Chicago | day 3

IMG_9077

Day three was pretty chill since we had to pack, clean, and drive home. But this view made it worth it.

IMG_9085

Gelato on the deck for breakfast. Don’t judge…we would have had to throw it away otherwise.

Izze is my favorite…just in case any of you need future ideas for gifts. :p

IMG_9090

You can not end a “treat yo’ self” weekend without getting a smoothie from Panera.

I hope you enjoyed these past few posts and that they assist you in planning any future trips to Chicago. Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer. πŸ™‚

Chicago | day 2

IMG_8939

The day started at the Shedd Aquarium. This was the view from a balcony outside of the aquarium.

IMG_8947

The ceiling was so neat! And a welcome break from the sun after waiting in line outside for an hour.

IMG_8960

This starfish was just the coolest!

IMG_8965

Sea anemone…I think everyone spent the majority of the time trying to pronounce anemone.

NEMO!!

IMG_9009

Chicago-style hot dog outside of the aquarium for lunch. It was sooo good!!

IMG_9012

We took the water taxi from the aquarium to Navy Pier. This was the aquarium.

IMG_9017

The skyline from the water was so cool!

IMG_9019

Navy Pier was pretty busy. We were not planning on even looking around but it started pouring so we ran inside. It did not stop so we put on rain ponchos and made a run for it to Water Tower Place.Β My shoes were soaked.

IMG_9031

Wonuts was a neat concept but they might have tasted better fresh. They were the size of doughnuts and had doughnut toppings but we made in a waffle iron and it was waffle batter. This specific one was at the mall and they did not seem too fresh.

IMG_9033

The John Hancock building was free to go up unlike the Willis Tower. It also only took us about 20 minutes in line too.

IMG_9037

We were told that the best view was from the ladies restroom; they were right!! It was such an amazing view.

IMG_9042

For dinner we went to the Eataly on Ohio Street. This place was definitely unique.

IMG_9043

It was two stories tall. There were four different restaurants within the Eataly and there were grocery shopping areas.

IMG_9045

A lot of the food was fresh, which was really neat.

There was a Nutella stand; we were too full to get anything but it was super cool!

The day ended with a fun game of Life. So relaxing!

Day 3 will come around soon…keep your eyes open for it!

Chicago | day 1

IMG_8813

This is how you road trip.

IMG_8831

After arriving in Chicago we decided to grab a bite to eat before exploring. We found this little gem of a place on Michigan Avenue after walking for quite some time.

IMG_8842

The pasta was delicious but I especially loved the frozen lemonade. It was so nice to have a cold drink on such a hot day. I would highly recommend Corner Bakery.

IMG_8845

What is a trip to Chicago without seeing the Bean? It was my number must see landmark in Chicago. Although it was so hot out that we spent most of the time resting in the shade.

IMG_8854

Buckingham Fountain was a wonderful place to stop and just enjoy the moment. The fountain was beautiful and the view was spectacular. Not to mention, there were plenty of benches that offered a place to rest and rejuvenate.

IMG_8870

Just another picture of this awesome view.

IMG_8879

The architecture there was astounding.

IMG_8885

Although a sweet sixteen was being celebrated, we ended up spending more time in children’s stores than anything else. Pic: ft. Disney store.

IMG_8897

The American Girl Place was on my list of must see stores in Chicago. It was a blast.

IMG_8899

The girl of the year is Grace. And she bakes. Where was she when I was 8?

IMG_8924

This adorable little candy store was in Water Tower Place along with the American Girl Store, the Lego store, and tons of other neat little places.

IMG_8933

Giordanos is rated as one of the top places to get Chicago deep dish pizza so we obviously had to get in on some of that. It was totally worth the wait.

IMG_8935

Is this not the cheesiest, deepest, and yummiest looking pizza ever?? So yummy! If I ever go back, I will be sure to stop at Giordanos again.

And so ends day 1.

Day 2 will be posted shortly.
