This is how you road trip.
After arriving in Chicago we decided to grab a bite to eat before exploring. We found this little gem of a place on Michigan Avenue after walking for quite some time.
The pasta was delicious but I especially loved the frozen lemonade. It was so nice to have a cold drink on such a hot day. I would highly recommend Corner Bakery.
What is a trip to Chicago without seeing the Bean? It was my number must see landmark in Chicago. Although it was so hot out that we spent most of the time resting in the shade.
Buckingham Fountain was a wonderful place to stop and just enjoy the moment. The fountain was beautiful and the view was spectacular. Not to mention, there were plenty of benches that offered a place to rest and rejuvenate.
Just another picture of this awesome view.
The architecture there was astounding.
Although a sweet sixteen was being celebrated, we ended up spending more time in children’s stores than anything else. Pic: ft. Disney store.
The American Girl Place was on my list of must see stores in Chicago. It was a blast.
The girl of the year is Grace. And she bakes. Where was she when I was 8?
This adorable little candy store was in Water Tower Place along with the American Girl Store, the Lego store, and tons of other neat little places.
Giordanos is rated as one of the top places to get Chicago deep dish pizza so we obviously had to get in on some of that. It was totally worth the wait.
Is this not the cheesiest, deepest, and yummiest looking pizza ever?? So yummy! If I ever go back, I will be sure to stop at Giordanos again.
And so ends day 1.
Day 2 will be posted shortly.
